Majority of the carriers have come through with several options of how us Canadians can help out those in need in Japan. Today WIND has reduced the call per minute rate to Japan down to $0.10/minute.  Usually it would cost $0.50/minute. Thanks to one of our tipsters we were sent the following e-mail that was addressed to WIND employees from CEO Ken Campbell:

Dear Team,

In recognition of the devastating events that have happened in Japan, we have temporarily reduced the international calling rate for all calls to Japan to 10 cents per minute. For those of our customers with friends or family over there who are trying to manage through this difficult ordeal, we hope this making staying in touch easier.

Our thoughts go out to the people impacted.

Best Regards,

Ken
