LTE (Long Term Evolution) to succeed GSM sooner than we think?

LTE (Long Term Evolution) is widely seen as the successor to GSM-based networks is coming sooner than we think: Alan Pritchard, vice-president of wireless business development for North America said “We’ve been doing full-mobility trials of LTE technology driving 100 kilometres an hour down the Queensway and then doing 50 megabit-per-second downloads going 100 kilometres an hour down that road. That gives you an idea of the kind of performance that you’re talking about.”
