Twitter for BlackBerry was released back on April 12th – it’s currently only compatible for a vast array of smartphones that run OS 4.5.0 or higher. The official PlayBook version of the app is not yet available, but remember that Best Buy link that promoted the upcoming PlayBook OS 2.0? It’s now live and possibly shows some upcoming apps that might be included.
“Plug in to BlackBerry App World and read, write and game like never before. With thousands of apps for every use, you’ll never run out of new and exciting options. Pick up Angry Birds or Cut the Rope, read the latest magazines, or connect online with Facebook and Twitter apps. With access to Kobo and Kindle, you can enjoy new late night reading without ever leaving your living room.”
The PlayBook does have Twitter on it, but it’s only an icon that directs you to the Twitter homepage, not a standalone native app. Plus, as described above a dedicated Kindle app could be in the works too.
More should be revealed on the 21st.
