Pebble has updated its iOS app to allow iPhone users to receive email notifications on their wrists.
Whereas the smartwatch always supported email notifications on Android, it was significantly more difficult to implement on the more-closed iOS platform, but the company has figured out a way to push Gmail and general IMAP services to its users’ wrists.
iOS 7 is set to improve matters for wearable devices by allowing apps to send more information through Bluetooth, but until then this is a nice stopgap.
