After a beta test period on iOS and Android, Microsoft has officially brought the full version of Cortana to both platforms. Unfortunately, the personal assistant is only available on non-Microsoft platforms in the U.S. and China.
Curious when Canadians can start saying, “Hey, Cortana” to their mobile phone? Well, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to officially download the app. In a statement issued to MobileSyrup, Microsoft said, “we have not yet announced a launch date for a Canadian Cortana release on Android and iOS. But once we have news to share, we’ll be sure to let you know.”
While some might be upset because of the delay. This is not the first time Cortana’s arrival in Canada has been delayed. When the desktop and tablet version of Windows 10 launched in Canada it also didn’t ship with Cortana enabled. Microsoft later added support for the personal assistant.
Cortana is Microsoft’s personal voice assistant and enables users to easily conduct voice searches, set reminders, track flights, packages and send emails/texts.
