Not as blunt or confusing as Alberta’s recent #CrotchesKill social media campaign, British Columbia police are taking to the streets and the internet with a new #eyesfwdBC initiative, designed to encourage drivers to leave their phones alone when behind the wheel.
In a statement sent to MobileSyrup, Mike Morris, minister of public safety and solicitor general said, “distracted driving remains a serious concern and we’re committed to taking steps to make our roads safer for everyone. Police across B.C. are doing their part to change behaviours by enforcing the law and we can all do our part by letting every phone call or text wait until we reach our destination.”
