The OnePlus 3 and 3T phones will receive Android O, according to a tweet from company CEO Pete Lau.
A lot of you have been asking, so I’m proud to say Android O will come to OnePlus 3 and 3T.
— Pete Lau (@petelau2007) May 31, 2017
Lau did not go to provide a specific timeline for the release of Android O to the OP3 and OP3T.
Moreover, there still hasn’t been any word from OnePlus as to whether the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X will be updated to Android Nougat and beyond.
In the meantime, OnePlus is moving ahead with the OnePlus 5. Consumers can vote on Weibo to decide on the final retail design packaging of the upcoming device. There are eight different red or white options. Note, however, that the site is in Chinese.
In other OnePlus 5 news, Lau recently announced that the phone will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Earlier this week, the company also teased the device’s camera quality on Twitter.
OnePlus has been teasing a summer release for the phone, but so far, no specific Canadian launch timing has been revealed.
