Starting tomorrow, Torontonians won’t have to worry about ice cream shortages while browsing Facebook.
#DoughToDoor, a new campaign launched by Toronto grocery and alcohol delivery app Urbery and Ben & Jerry’s allows users to purchase ice cream via a chatbot on the social media giant’s Messenger platform. The pints will then be delivered curbside courtesy of Urbery. Deliverable locations include all downtown Toronto locations with postal codes that start with M5C, M5H, M5J, M5K, M5L, M5S, M5V, M5X, M6K and M7A.
The campaign will run from September 27th to October 7th while quantities last, with delivery available between 11:30a.m. and 4p.m. on weekdays, and 5p.m. to 9p.m. on weekends. The first 200 people to order, the companies state in the joint release, will also receive a free Ben & Jerry’s ‘shovel spoon.’
To order the $8.99 CAD pints through Facebook, customers can visit Ben & Jerry’s page and send the brand a greeting message via Messenger. The bot will then take over, checking delivery availability of the address and displaying the three flavours available: Half Baked, Cookie Dough and the Jimmy Fallon-inspired Tonight Dough.
