Google has announced that CFO Patrick Pichette is retiring from the company. Canadian-born Pichette left his job as CFO of Bell in 2008 to join Google.
According to the SEC filing, Google stated that it is planning to find a replacement and that Pichette has not yet set a date for his departure. CNBC reports that Google expects to transition to a new CFO in the next six months. Pichette is part of Google’s five-person management team, which includes Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Eric Schmidt and David Drummond.
At the time of his hiring, Pichette stated, “Google is a great company with a phenomenal brand and an outstanding management team. As an avid user of Google products, I’ve admired the company for many years and am excited about working with my new colleagues in Mountain View and around the world.”
It’s unclear whether Pichette will pursue another job elsewhere.
