Google has updated its iOS Play Music app with support for the iPad, as well as a Material Design makeover.
Bringing it to version 2.0, Google has added the same polish to the app that it brought to Android last year with Lollipop. Material Design flourishes, as well as animations, can be seen throughout the app, which now boasts a FAB (Floating Action Button) on each album screen.
The Now Playing screen has also been spruced up, though not severely altered, making Play Music considerably easier on the eyes than it used to be.
The biggest addition to version 2.0, however, is the native iPad interface, which expands the app’s interface to take advantage of the tablet’s larger screen. It’s about what you would expect from such an update: multiple columns, bigger photos and more space for text.
Google Play Music is free for Canadians to use to store up to 20,000 songs through an online locker. There is also a $9.99/month streaming service called All Access (which has been rumoured to be changing to Google Play Music Unlimited).
