We reported yesterday that over 60% of North American iDevices had been updated to iOS 6. During his keynote presentation today in San Jose, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that 200 million devices are now running iOS 6, which is the fastest operating system update in history.
Apple has also announced that 300 billion iMessages have been sent, 100 billion received (interesting…).
There are now 700,000 total apps, including 275,000 apps available for iPad. For the iPad this is an increase of 25,000 a month ago. There have been 35 billion app downloads, with $6.5 billion paid out to developers.
They’ve also announced a new version of iBooks with continuous scrolling, and support for more than 40 languages. There have been 400 million iBooks downloads, and with this update there is increased support for sharing to Twitter and Facebook, as well as improved iCloud support.
