In May we reported on a virulent bug that was affecting many users of the Canadian Nexus S. This software bug resulted in the Search button to constantly “activate”, rendering the phone unusable until restarted. At the time Google claimed they acknowledged the issue and were looking into releasing an over-the-air fix as soon as possible.
Well, here we are at the end of August and a today Google software engineer claims a fix has been rendered and will be delivered in an update later in the week. While this will certainly bring a sigh of relief to many an encumbered Nexus S owner, the fact that it is coming almost four months after being diagnosed, and nearly nine months since the phone’s release, will be little consolation.
We will update the post when the update is released, but Nexus S owners, are you excited for the fix, or have you found other ways around it?
