When Sony announced the Xperia X Performance, X and XA in February at Mobile World Congress, the company did not specify a release date for the three smartphones. However, according to a recent email sent by the company, the new devices may soon be available to pre-order.
Android Authority is reporting Sony sent an email teasing a pre-order to those pre-registered for advanced information about the phones. The email states that those who pre-order the Xperia X, Xperia XA or Xperia Ear, the Bluetooth-enabled headset Sony announced alongside the phones, will receive an exclusive offer as soon as pre-orders open.
Sony Canada confirmed to MobileSyrup this past February that the Xperia X series would come to Canada this summer, which was somewhat unexpected considering MediaTek chipset-powered devices like the Xperia XA don’t typically make it to North America.
Sony also released an unlisted video focused on a feature of the Xperia X’s 23-megapixel camera feature, Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, which lets the phone focus on a person or object and then automatically tracks it, reducing blur.
We’ve has reached out to Sony Canada for further information on when to expect the launch of the X line.
