Apple suggested Canadians should lineup for the iPhone X if they planned on purchasing the smartphone, noting in a statement earlier this week “to arrive early.”
Well, this is exactly what is happening across Canada tonight.
It seems to be a throwback to the iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 days when eager and loyal iPhone users camped out for multiple days. Apple started to direct people away from this strategy when the iPhone 7 launched as the company ramped up its online reservation and ordering capabilities.
Now, with the iPhone X and the possibility of a global shortage, people are back in action. Below is a video from Apple’s flagship Toronto the Eaton Centre. At the time of writing, there are about 200 people lining up, with the first person claiming his position at 4am.
The iPhone X officially goes on sale in Canada on November 3rd and pricing starts at $1,319 CAD for the 64GB model.
Update – November 3rd: Here is the lineup for the iPhone X in Toronto. Looks to be well over 400 in total.
