The rumour mill keeps spinning with information about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
Today, a date for the device’s unveiling has been reported by Korea Herald and Korean publication Navar. While the specifics reported by the two Korean publications are a little different, both state the next Samsung flagship device will arrive near the end of August.
Specifically, Navar indicates that Samsung will reveal the Note 8 on August 26th at an unpacking event in New York, noting that the date may vary by a day or two depending on the location in which the Korean company decides to hold the event. Navar sources its leak to an unnamed Samsung Electronics official.
Korea Herald noted that Samsung plans to unveil the Note 8 in New York as well, but its date isn’t as specific. Korea Herald remarks that Samsung is set to reveal the Note in the third or fourth week of August. Past leaks suggested that the Korean flagship was to launch in the first week of September at IFA, but the publication notes that Samsung’s desire for a competitive edge against Apple has resulted in a schedule change.
It’s also possible that Samsung changed the date so that it can be ahead of the launch for the LG V30, as recent reports say that LG will unveil the V30 in August.
Rumours suggest that the Galaxy Note 8 will feature a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, an upgraded S Pen, a dual rear camera set up and will not support an embedded fingerprint scanner.
