If you’re hunting for something a bit different to play on your smartphone or tablet, look no further than the just released Banner Saga 2.
Sequel to Banner Saga, first released in 2014, Banner Saga 2 is a tactical RPG — think: Final Fantasy Tactics — that adds travel gameplay elements from The Oregon Trail (thankfully, none of your characters will die from dysentery, though betrayal and infighting may play a part in their eventual demise).
It features beautiful background art and character designs inspired by the work of legendary Disney illustrator Eyvind Earle, as well as haunting music by Austin Wintory, best known for his work on PlayStation 3 indie darling Journey.
The game is available for $6.99 and $6.49 on both the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store, respectively. One thing to note is that the game weighs in at 3.30GB, so you may have to free some space.
