Right now both Fido and Virgin Mobile are offering limited-time plans that give customers double the data usually allotted at the companies’ respective rates.
For instance, Fido is offering 2GB and unlimited minutes for $70 on a two-year Fido pulse plan, or 1GB and 500 minutes for $55. Both are available only with an upgrade or new activation.
If customers bring their own phone to activate with, they can currently get 1GB and 500 minutes for $40, and 2GB and unlimited minutes for $60, among other configurations. The offer excludes Manitoba and Saskatchewan, but includes Quebec.
At Virgin Mobile customers can get BYOD rates of 1GB and 500 minutes for $40 on a BYOP plan as well, and unlimited minutes and 2GB for $50. A two-year contract pushes that up by $10 on Virgin’s silver plan and $15 on its gold plan. In common with Fido, these plans are only available if customers activate a new account or upgrade. The offer excludes Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Both offers end June 6th, 2016. MobileSyrup will be keeping an eye on Koodo to see if it joins in with a promotional offer of its own before then.
