With MWC kicking off on Monday and press day less than 48 hours away, we’re looking forward to finally seeing the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge in the flesh. Until then, Unbox Therapy is tiding us over with some pretty clear shots of what they claim is the real deal.
The video below appeared online on Friday afternoon and features both devices. The Galaxy S6 looks a lot like the other leaked images and the photos of the alleged engineering prototype that we saw earlier this week, and Unbox Therapy reveals that the specs inside both phones are identical aside from the battery, which is 50mAh larger in the Galaxy S6 Edge.
The chassis of the phone itself is reportedly fashioned from an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back of the phone. This will bring some of the premium feel of the Galaxy Alpha and the Note 4 to the Galaxy S line, but it does come with some concessions. Unbox Therapy has confirmed that there will indeed be no removable back or battery and no MicroSD card. This new premium build means we’re also losing out on the water resistance, which could be a pretty divisive change for consumers.
Under the hood, there’s an unnamed octa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, a 5.1-inch 1440p display, and a redesigned finger print sensor in the home button. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything specific regarding the processor, so we still don’t know for certain if the rumours about Samsung dropping the Snapdragon 810 for the international version are true. Still, Sunday isn’t too far away.
Check the video below and don’t forget to tune in on Sunday for all of the official news.
