Rogers has joined Bell, Virgin and TELUS in launching the metal-framed Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Rogers has priced the Alpha a bit higher than its competitors at $179.99 on a 2-year contract. Bell currently has the phone listed at $179, while Virgin and TELUS have priced the Alpha at $149 and $80 respectively.
The LTE-enabled Galaxy Alpha runs Android 4.4.4 and sports a 4.7-inch 1280×720 pixel Super AMOLED display, a 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, a 12MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and a 1860mAh battery. With its brushed aluminum frame, the Alpha was the first of Samsung’s smartphones to feature metal construction.
