Monument Valley is free today on Amazon’s Appstore

One of the best mobile games of the year — perhaps ever — has been made available for free on Amazon’s Android Appstore today.

Monument Valley, which features white-clad, laconic Ida trying to figure out the mysteries of the Totem and overcome the frustrating Crow People, was released by ustwo Studios earlier this year to much acclaim. An add-on pack, Forgotten Shores, was recently unveiled for the iOS version, and this one-day deal could mean the same release is impending for Android.

Users will need to have Amazon’s Appstore installed to download the game, and will need to keep it installed to play the game, but it’s a small price to pay for one of Android’s best games.
