A couple weeks ago WIND Mobile said they would be releasing the Huawei Ascend P1 sometime this summer. Well, looks like those weeks were actually a few days as the Ascend P1 is now available. This Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered device costs $399 outright, $199 on WIND25 Tab, or $49 on WIND40 Tab.
The Ascend P1 is probably the best high-end device that Huawei has released in Canada – WIND Mobile calls this the “perfect combination of brains and beauty.” Specs have it coming with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch super AMOLED display (960×540 resolution) and made of Gorilla Glass, 7.69 mm thin, 8MP camera that shoots 1080p videos and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. No word yet on if/when the device will be upgraded to OS 4.1 Jelly Bean.
