We told you yesterday that Samsung was going to wait a bit longer to bring Galaxy Note users that coveted Android 4.0 update. Specifically, they were going to delay the release from Q1 to Q2 and develop a larger number of S Pen-related apps.
Whether there were other reasons involved, such as performance-related issues, we’ll likely never know, but a delay is a delay and that is likely going to make a few people unhappy. Nevertheless, as a way to tease the upcoming ICS release with its Premium Suite of S Pen apps, Samsung has released a teaser video showing off the things you’ll be able to do with apps like Shape Match and Formula Match, both things I would find extraordinarily cool if I was still a student.
In fact, most of the upgrades seem to be geared towards the young professional, the note-taker, the student, the teacher, the something. There is very little in this ICS update that is aimed squarely at improving the core Android experience; TouchWIZ seems fully intact. But we won’t judge it until we see it in action.
Check after the break for a lively demonstration video.
