One of the more egregious omissions in the newly-released Nokia Lumia line was the lack of a mobile hotspot feature. Both devices contain basebands capable of reaching 14.4Mbps down, and Windows Phone Mango is capable of it, but mobile hotspots were conspicuously absent.
During a Q&A for the upcoming Lumia 900, Nokia Connects divulged that the feature would be added to existing Lumia 710 and 800 handsets via a Zune update. Canadians are still waiting for the Lumia 800 update that fixes idle power usage, but at least now we have confirmation that another one is coming. The Lumia 900 will come with mobile hotspot out of the box.
The Q&A also revealed that the Lumia 900 will have slightly improved camera and audio software, based on customer feedback.
