The Galaxy Mini was a pretty popular low-end device on Mobilicity, released last year for $169.99. Its aptly-named successor, the 3.3-inch Galaxy Mini 2, is a bit stronger in almost every field, while maintaining that low-end look and feel we’d expect.
With a model number GT-S6500, the Mini 2 is expected to pack a 3.3-inch 480×320 HVGA touch screen, an 800Mhz processor, 3GB internal storage, a 3MP back camera (no flash), and likely 512MB RAM. It will come pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Samsung’s new multi-platform messenger ChatON.
No word on whether this device is coming to Canada, but it’s likely it will show up here in some form or another. The Mini 2 is expected to launch at Mobile World Congress at the end of the month, so we’ll bring you more information then.
