Snap is celebrating LGBT Pride Month 2017 in many ways throughout Snapchat’s interface.
Throughout the month of June, Snap will launch a number of ‘Our Stories’ snaps in the Discover section of the app — a swipe to the left from Stories — that will highlight and celebrate the global community as they show their pride. Additionally, the Discover page will showcase the unique perspectives and diverse backgrounds of people around the globe in relation to pride.
The ‘Our Stories’ in the Discover page — or within your own story page — will include photos and videos inviting the community to tell the world why they’re proud of who they are and provide worldwide coverage of events and pride festivities.
Snapchat users in specific locations can submit their snaps and the Snapchat producers and editors will produce the ‘Our Stories’ from the submitted snaps. To submit a snap to ‘Our Stories,’ take a quick video or picture and when you’re selecting where to send it, pick the ‘Our Story’ option.
Additionally, Snap has launched Pride-themed ‘Creative Tools,’ for to people express their pride and have fun with friends.
These include the Pride-themed ‘Emoji Brush’ that will decorate snaps with emoji. Snap has also added a sticker pack of 14 colourful Bitmojis and stickers found in the sticker drawer. The sticker drawer is accessed when sending photos and videos, or when adding to your Story.
Last but not least, Snapchat is launching pride-themed Geofilters every Friday to Sunday through June. Three Geofilters will be available throughout the morning, afternoon and evening.
