While No Man’s Sky may not have hit the mark for many players, its forthcoming update sets forth to make significant changes that may call some back for a second try.
Hello Games, the studio behind the recently released indie title, which received generous amounts of hype from Sony but got mixed reviews upon release, has announced the ‘Foundation Update’ which adds the foundation for base building in the game and “is putting in place a foundation for things to come,” according to an announcement blog post.
“The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic,” the studio added. “We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about.”
The blog post did not say when exactly the update would come, only stating that it would be this week.
No Man’s Sky is a first-person, open world survival game that allows players to explore, combat and trade in a massive shared universe.
Update 11/28/2016: The update has arrived on PlayStation 4, bringing with it three different game modes, home bases, farming and the ability to create save points anywhere you’d like. Below is a video overview of the update released by the studio.
