BlackBerry starts talking software on the BlackBerry Classic

BlackBerry Classic

BlackBerry has posted a new video showing off the upcoming BlackBerry Classic on its corporate blog. Previously, BlackBerry has shown off the Classic’s returning navigation belt and keyboard shortcuts. Now, the company has expanded its focus to include the Classic’s launch software.

The video gives a quick glance at the Classic’s BB10 browser, highlighting menu integration via the dedicated hardware keys. BlackBerry’s Social Media Marketing Manager Donny Halliwell also reminds viewers that the BlackBerry Classic will come preloaded with the Amazon App Store. Unfortunately, while Halliwell points out the specific benefits of the expanded app catalog (shout out Candy Crush!), he doesn’t actually open any apps to demonstrate how well they’ll run on BlackBerry 10.

Disclosure: I worked at BlackBerry from 2009-2011. Donny Halliwell had great pocket square game then, too.
