Distribution is key part of the strategy for the carriers to sell their products. Majority of them have mirroring device lineups, similar plans and offer promos at the same time. Over the last number of years we’ve seen the carriers strike various distribution deals with Loblaws (The Mobile Shop), Money Mart, Staples, and even defunct BlockBuster Canada.
British Columbia-based GLENTEL is one of the retail power-houses. The company sells wireless services for Bell, Rogers, Fido, Virgin, Chatr and SaskTel (TELUS is missing for some reason) under the WIRELESSWAVE, Tbooth, WIRELESS etc, Target Mobile brand names. A press release earlier this week reveals that they’ve extended their relationship with Bell/Virgin by signing a multi-year agreement to sell their brand in over 360 locations. Tom Skidmore, GLENTEL’s President and CEO, stated that “GLENTEL is proud of its longstanding relationship with Bell… Over the years, Bell has contributed to GLENTEL’s significant profitable growth in Canada from coast to coast.” The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
