The Sony Music Unlimited service went live in Canada in March with support for PS Vita, PS3, Sony Connected Televisions and Android. The service provides access 15 millions tracks from all major record labels (not just Sony) and has curated radio stations for those who don’t want to listen to albums or create their own playlists.
Two subscription models, a $3.99 Basic and $9.99 Premium version, are available, though only the latter provides unlimited playback and curated radio stations.
The iOS app will be available for iPhone and iPod touch this Friday, May 25th. We tried it on the web and Android, and while it lacks the overall polish of Rdio it’s a great choice for those entrenched in the Sony ecosystem.
