Canadians are getting used to having great devices before other countries. A prime example of this is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II or the Sony Xperia Play. However, some things are still slow, specifically in the mobile payment space. Thanks to NFC capable devices this will change by the end of the year as more companies are implementing the ability pay by mobile (Visa, MasterCard PayPass, ZoomPass). Hopefully this will be transferred to apps too… Starbucks gave iPhone users the option to pay for their drinks straight from the app a couple years back, but Canadians are still waiting. An update has been pushed through to version 2.0.1 that only brings “Stability enhancements”.
