Oculus has revealed that it is working on an immersive theatre experience that lets consumers interact with live actors in virtual reality.
“We’re really interested in, how do you create that experience of live actors without needing to be in a site-specific location,” Oculus executive producer of experiences Yelena Rachitsky told CNET. “It’s a way to scale.”
While Rachitsky didn’t reveal specifics about the project, she did liken it to a mash-up between the hit PlayStation indie game Journey and immersive play “Sleep No More.”
As well, she confirmed that the experience is slated for release sometime in 2019.
