CIBC Mobile Banking for iOS has been updated with the ability to open a new account with the bank’s mobile application.
CIBC is Canada’s fifth largest bank and the financial institution has consistently updated its mobile app with new features. Apart from mobile cheque deposits and allowing customers to access account information from a smartwatch, CIBC recently redesigned its iOS to include fingerprint scanning Touch ID support.
Today, version 7.4 of CIBC’s app is available to all iOS users, adding the option to open a chequing or savings account directly within the app, allowing customers to avoid visiting a physical branch.
Of course, there are a few steps to complete and a plethora of fine print to be aware of, but CIBC includes the option to scan a drivers license to make the sign-up process easier.
