Leave it to the carriers to wait until April Fools’ Day to make significant pricing changes. Last month, Apple bumped up the cost of the iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus at its online and retail locations by between $90 and $150 per model, increasing the price of a 16GB iPhone 6 to $839.
Shortly thereafter, Rogers compensated by increasing the price of its on-contract iPhones by the same amount. Of course, Canadians reacted negatively to the news, and in turn Rogers reverted to the original 2-year term pricing, stating, “Apple raised prices but we decided we want to give our customers a few more days to get used to the new pricing.”
A few days has passed and it seems today of all days is the new reality. So far, Rogers, SaskTel, Virgin Mobile, TELUS, Fido, and Bell have shifted their price plans for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Expect all the other carriers to follow suit in the coming days:

– 16GB: $348.99 on a 2-year contract (was $264.99)
– 64GB: $478.99 on a 2-year contract (was $374.99)
– 128GB: $598.99 on a 2-year contract (was $484.99)
iPhone 6 Plus:
– 16GB: $478.99 on a 2-year contract (was $374.99)
– 64GB: $598.99 on a 2-year contract (was $484.99)
– 128GB: $728.99 on a 2-year contract (was $594.99)
iPhone 5s:
– 16GB: $228.99 on a 2-year contract (was $154.99)
– 32GB: $298.99 on a 2-year contract (was $209.99)
iPhone 6 (no term):
– 16GB: $839 (was $749)
