Sony announced yesterday that PlayStation VR will officially be available in Canada this October.
The company didn’t go on to provide a firm release date, but did say the virtual reality headset will cost $549 in Canada. The PlayStation Camera, which costs an additional $69, will also be required, bringing the total cost of the unit to $618.
Unfortunately, the company failed to mention what retailers will carry the accessory. In a statement to sent to MobileSyrup, Sony Canada said, “we actually aren’t sharing which retailers will be carrying the system at this time.”
In the meantime, Best Buy Canada seems eager to inform the masses that it will carry the PlayStation VR on launch day, as well as the fact that it will eventually start accepting pre-orders.
“PlayStation VR is coming to Best Buy soon. Keep checking the blog as we’ll provide more details about availability and pre-orders soon,” said Best Buy on its site.
There are currently over 230 developers and publishers making titles for PSVR, including 2K Games and Ubisoft.
At launch, over 50 games will be available, such as Eagle Flight, EVE: Valkyrie, Headmaster, Rez Infinite, Wayward Sky, RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, Tumble VR and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. In addition, EA, DICE and Lucasfilm are making an exclusive version of Star Wars Battlefront for PlayStation VR.
