It’s hot and Uber is looking to capitalize on weather.
Coming back to the Uber app this Friday is Uber Ice Cream, a promo that Uber says “transcends seasons, borders, and cultures.”
This year, Uber is partnering with Magnum, which is owned by Unilever, to deliver on-demand ice cream to your hands. For Canadians, the festivities happen at July 15th and will be available in Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Montreal, Quebec City, Edmonton, and Toronto.
There are no details regarding the cost for the ice cream but if it follows the 2015 experience it’ll be around the $20 mark for three cones.
Uber Ice Cream can be accessed from within the app by choosing the ‘Ice Cream’ option at the bottom of the screen.
Update 12/06/16: Uber has reached out to MobileSyrup with more details on the Montreal event. It will be delivering gelato from local company FCO di Fiumcino at the price of $18 for five treats between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
In Quebec City, the price is $8 for three Magnum treats, with the same hours of operation.
In Edmonton, three Magnum bars can be delivered for free from the UberEATS app between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Uber in Edmonton is also delivering ice cream sandwiches from local store Cookie Love for $5 each.
MobileSyrup will continue to update the post as more information rolls in for the Ontario locations.
