Google reveals Android TV concept device ‘ADT-2’

The device runs Android TV and will be powered by Android P

Google headquarters

Mountain View search giant Google has announced an Android TV developer’s kit at this year’s I/O developers’ conference.

The device is dubbed the ‘ADT-2,’ and Android Central reports that it’s approximately the size of Google’s Chromecast Ultra streaming dongle.

MobileSyrup previously reported a rumour that Google planned on releasing a version of its Chromecast with Bluetooth support, but it now appears that the device was in fact the ADT-2.

The ADT-2 features an HDMI plug on one end and a power port on the opposite side. It’s able to work with a remote control, reportedly runs Android TV and is expected to run Android P once the device ships out to developers.

According to TechCrunch, the ADT-2 supports 4K streaming, carries 8GB of internal storage, and also supports Google Assistant if used with a Bluetooth remote with built-in microphones.

Any developers interested in getting their hands on an ADT-2 dev kit can do by filling out this form.
