It’s uncanny how many tablets Samsung releases in a year. Three more are en route to unknown locations “beginning in Q2, 2014.” The Galaxy Tab4 will come in three sizes: 10.1-inch, 8.0-inch and 7.0-inch displays, and are being marketed as “exceptional multimedia experience for the whole family.”
All models will launch in black or white and offer Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity. The tablets aim to fill the entry-level market with a goal to “provide maximum portability” by coming in under 9mm thick. Each of the new Tab4 tablets run Android OS 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz, sport a 1280×800 screen resolution, 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 3MP front-facing camera, 1.3 MP rear-facing camera and MicroSD card slot that holds up to 64GB. From a battery perspective, the 10.1-inch has a 6,800mAh, 8.0-inch is 4,450mAh, and the 7.0-inch is unknown at this point.
The design lines are similar to the TabPRO and Note 3 with faux leather backing. It’s probably inevitable that we’ll see at least one of these tablets arrive on Canadian soil, but nothing in the release indicated a country breakdown or pricing.
