You may read on various US-centric Android sites today that Google has dropped the price of the Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition to $449 USD. That’s all well and good, but what about us Canadians? We don’t have access to the GPe program, so what’s a good Canuck to do?
Thankfully, Sony has us relatively covered. The company has been proffering its unlocked Xperia Z Ultra for $499 CDN for the past few weeks, and now that the 6-inch 1080p, Snapdragon 800-powered device has been updated to Android 4.4.2, it may be worth taking a look at. We enjoyed using the device when it was released last year, but at the time its outright price wasn’t compelling, and it was a Bell exclusive on the carrier side.
If you’re interested in picking one up from Sony, the Xperia Z Ultra is available online or at Sony retail stores.
