At the end of February Amazon announced the company had acquired smart home device manufacturer Ring for $1 billion USD.
Today, similar to when the online retailer purchased Whole Foods, Ring has been given its first massive discount in Canada and around the world.
The Ring Wi-Fi Enabled Video Doorbell has been dropped in price by 30 percent, now down to $124.99 CAD from $179.00. This specific smart doorbell comes in ‘Satin Nickel,’ ‘Polished Brass,’ ‘Antique Brass,’ and ‘Venetian Bronze.’
In addition, Ring Video Doorbell Pro is also discounted, but only 9 percent to $274 CAD.
At the time of the acquisition, Ring noted that it “is committed to our mission to reduce crime in neighborhoods by providing effective yet affordable home security tools to our Neighbors that make a positive impact on our homes, our communities, and the world. We’ll be able to achieve even more by partnering with an inventive, customer-centric company like Amazon.”
