The HTC One is coming – eventually – but the company is wasting no time in putting the marketing pedal to the metal.
Its latest 30-second spot for the One focuses on BlinkFeed, it’s unique and relatively controversial change to the stock Android home screen. Combining news from various customizable sources, Facebook and Twitter into a single vertical feed, the aim is to recreate a Flipboard-like magazine that’s constantly giving you the content you want.
Whether it works depends on how you use your phone, but it’s certainly going to be a divisive inclusion.
The commercial itself is quite weird, depicting a lone female on a subway car reacting to people (content) appearing from thin air (refreshing). Some commenters have argued that HTC should focus on the physical advantages of the One, including its BoomSound speakers and excellent Ultrapixel imaging, but we’re sure the company is readying a few more spots before the launch.
