    Aww, no front-facing camera. :'(

Not every one uses the front-facing camera.. Show me a poll or a study that shows more then 60% of canadians or costumers use the front- facing camera for video calling.

This is a great phone BUT its not a true 9900 bold killer. Sorry to say but Motorola can not even compete with the 9900 bold. Yes this plays angry birds but that does not mean anything..

Anyways all in all this does look like a great device. I shall buy it & see how it goes.

It’s a must for me when buying a new Android device next year. That’s the main new feature found in Gingerbread: Google Talk video calling, including PCs. However, i thumbed up your comment because your opinion was respectable.

Why even bring up the Bold 9900 when that device sells for $600 and this Motorola device sells for $350. The Curve 9360 which sells for $350 makes the better comparison. But when looking at specs, the Motorola is substantially better than the Curve.

      Curve 9360
      – Display: 2.44″
      – Screen resolution: 480 x 360 pixels
      – CPU: 800 MHz processor
      – RAM: 512 MB
      – Internal memory: 512 MB
      – Expandable memory: up to 32 GB microSD
      – Download speed: up to 7.2 Mbps

      Motorola Pro 4G+
      – Display: 3.1″
      – Screen resolution: 640 x 480 pixels
      – CPU: 1 GHz processor
      – RAM: 512 MB
      – Internal memory: 4 GB
      – Expandable memory: up to 32 GB
      – Download Speed: up to 14.4 Mbps

About $50-100 too expensive, but this is the BB Curve 9360 killer!
Bigger screen than 9360, 1GHz CPU and 1600mAh vs 1000mAh for the Curve.

Finally: Angrybirds and QWERTY in the same device!
This will take a bit bite of the 9360 market.

this is also a 9900 killer since it’s almost as good for much less money

this phone is so damn ugly man

It looks like an iconic blackberry keyboard. Tell me in the comment section below if you think RIM should take legal action?

  • Ben

RIM can’t take legal action. Motorola owns the patent to the blackberry keyboard.

I bought this phone the day it was released. It’s outstanding. I also have an Atrix, and that has been relegated to second place. The Pro+ feels very good in the hand, and the materials are good quality. From the reviews that I had seen, I was concerned about the rubbery back, but it actually feels and looks quite nice. It’s smaller than the BB Bold 9900.

Call quality is good, and signal quality is better than it was on my Atrix. The UI/OS (Gingerbread 2.3.5) is reasonably snappy in its operation, and the keyboard works well. Voice recognition is improved over the Atrix as well.

I installed SPB Shell 3D as the default launcher, so now the UI works even better, and looks the part as well (without any effect on speed, either). The display is a nice compromise in size (3.1″ vs the Atrix 4″) and is actually surprisingly crisp.

I love the combination of QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen.

Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this phone to anyone looking for a professional mobile device with a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen. Blackberry phones have their advantages and disadvantages, as does this phone. For my purposes, the Android environment/ecosystem is more useful than is BBOS7, and the Pro+ is an excellent fit.
