Coca-cola releases the ‘world’s first selfie bottle’

Coca Cola Selfie Bottle

When KFC released the Memories Bucket last summer, a chicken bucket that just so happened to also double as a Bluetooth printer, we here at the MobileSyrup thought there was no way any marketing firm could develop a more innovative promotional product.

We were wrong.

Coca-Cola Isreal, with the help of marketing agency Gefen Team, has released what it calls the ‘the world’s first selfie bottle.’

A simple half-litre bottle of Coca-Cola at first sight, the promotional product includes a camera built into its base, as well as a tilt sensor.

When said sensor detects a 70-degree tilt (e.g., when someone starts drinking from the bottle), it fires off the camera, producing a selfie. Coke drinkers can then share the resulting selfies on Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram.

The bottle reportedly drove engagement at Coca-Cola’s Summer Love campaign, the event where the bottle was premiered, to new heights.

“Users tag themselves and their friends in photos on Coca-Cola’s social media assets. It really does the trick and makes the partygoers more present and active during the event, knowing they can share their special moments just by drinking.”

Stay tuned for the official MobileSyrup review.
