This past Friday HTC launched the entry-level Desire C. This first hit the shelves on Virgin Mobile and SaskTel for as low as $100 outright. In their press release HTC noted that both Rogers and Fido will also have this Android “coming soon.” What we know so far is that Fido will release this ICS powered device on July 23rd and also welcome a couple Canadian colours to the mix – in both Red and White. Pricing is expected to be around the $150 no-term price.

More soon!
(Thanks tipster!)

Excellent, finally a use for my FidoDollars before I switch out.

When I was at Fido, in order to use Fido bucks towards purchase of a smartphone (which this is, albeit low-end), you had to take a data contract. Don’t know if that’s still the case, but something to be aware of.

If Virgin and Sasktel can release this at $100, why can’t Fido/Rogers ?

It been known as “Royalty screw you Customer Appreciation Day”

Volume pricing? Maybe they ordered more. Or the GSM one costs more for some reason. Or could be greed.. 🙂

Virgin has it for $150 FYI

If you going to spend your Fido dollars on something get the Galaxy Nexus…

  • Shane

Because SaskTel and Virgin are selling below cost.
