Special edition Harry Potter novels available on Apple’s iBooks store

Harry Potter Enhanced Editions

Enhanced Editions of the Harry Potter novels are now available to purchase through Apple’s iBooks app.

This marks the first time digital versions of the novels are available outside of J.K. Rowling’s own Pottermore website — it’s not even possible to purchase a Kindle version of the series from Amazon.

As the Enhanced Edition moniker suggests, there are a couple of things that set apart this iteration of the series from its previous physical releases. Most intriguing for Harry Potter fans is the fact that the iBooks versions include annotations written by Rowling herself. Moreover, each book features interactive animations and original artwork, as well as custom Harry Pottery typefaces, section headers and drop caps.

All the novels in the series is available today for $11.99 each. French language versions of the novels will be available on November 9 at the slightly higher price of $13.99 per book. The novels can be read on the iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch and Mac.
