Spotify for Windows Phone gets redesigned to look like iOS and Android versions

Spotify for Windows Phone has been redesigned to look an awful lot like the company’s iOS and Android apps.

In version 5.0, available today, Spotify says that it is “bringing Windows Phone users the best-looking Spotify ever,” with a “darker theme, refreshed typography and rounded iconography.”

Aside from the visual overhaul — its dark, cinema-like theme is the opposite of most light-and-bright streaming apps — Spotify has brought ‘Your Music’ to Windows Phone for the first time, a unified way to organize albums, playlists and individual songs.

Spotify’s update, which is now at feature parity with iOS and Android, puts it in a good position alongside competitors Rdio and Deezer.

Spotify arrived in Canada late last year, and has both free and paid tiers, with a monthly subscription starting at $9.99 per month. The company last week announced it has 60 million subs, with 15 million paid users.
