Rogers received the “Portico” update back in December, but we’re now hearing that Bell HTC 8X users have been notified the upgrade is finally available. This update – 8.0.10211.204 – fixes the random reboots that some people experienced, plus brings SMS and Wi-Fi connectivity improvements. Check your 8X: Settings -> Phone Update -> Check For Updates.

(Thanks Hugues & Gary!)

You lucky WP8 owners … you can now keep wifi active when screen is off!

  • Really

They’re really letting carriers do update rollouts for W8 too?

With how terrible Canadian carriers are at releasing updates, I will not consider Windows 8 now.

  • Theo

Rogers seems to always be the fastest carrier to release updates

I got my update on Saturday morning. Woke up to find an update screen on my phone, which I acknowledged, which then updated the OS. No issues to report, still the best mobile OS out there.

About freakin’ time! Thanks Bell, for making me wait almost two months to fix buggy issues when other carriers had already made them available wayyyy back. You talk the talk, but now I see other carriers have much better product/customer support. Just saying in your advertising you have great customer service means nothing … you actually need to deliver!

Sorry you have to go through life looking like that.
