Rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note 7.7 tablet appears on benchmark site

Samsung may be attempting to do with the Galaxy Note series what it did in 2011 with the Galaxy Tab. According to benchmark site GLBenchmark, Samsung has been testing a 7.7-inch version of its popular Note device.

The rumoured tablet is equipped with a 1.6Ghz quad-core processor, likely the same Exynos 4412 that resides in the Galaxy Note II. At this stage the slate’s resolution is a disappointing 1280×800 pixels, for a pixel density of 196ppi. While this is perfectly fine for a small tablet and only slightly less dense than the Nexus 7, for example, it would have been nice to see Samsung go the Full HD route.

Other than those preliminary specs we have very little to work with here. The tab is expected to debut with Android 4.1.2, but it’s possible Samsung could boost it to Android 4.2 by the time of its release. There’s a good possibility we’ll see the device at CES, but it’s more likely Samsung will wait until Mobile World Congress in February to make the announcement.

Tried the Tab 2 7 inch when it went on sale for $149 and returned it a few days later. Browser forces you to the mobile sites, videos won’t go full screen, slow processor. Overall the worst Android experience so far. Will try this one for sure because I’m not a big fan of 10″ tablets.

I really do love Android, don’t get me wrong, but honestly most Android slates aren’t quite there yet. As of right now, the only Android tablet that I can wholeheartedly recommend are the Nexus 10 and nexus 7, both of which are excellent and (in my opinion) better than the iPad or iPad Mini.

the note 10.1 isn’t too bad either, and other slates lile the Transformer Prime Infinity are okay, but the only tablets that I’ve honestly truly enjoyed to the maximum are the N7 and N10.

    7.7! Holy Jebus!

FYI: You look ridiculous in public, when you’re making calls on your phablet… You can tell me that you “don’t care” all you want, but you still look like a goof.

My comment was in relation to phablets, and not to a tablet mentioned in this article.

The first and only vagina that I’ve seen was my mom’s. That was 14 years ago.

One more comment on this article and you’ll come across as crazy. Just stop. Or, at least wait 5 minutes in between posts.

BTW Raymond, you’re missing the letter y in your name.

Raymond – First of all, please read, 2nd stanza says “The rumoured tablet is equipped with a 1.6Ghz quad-core processor, likely the same Exynos 4412 that resides in the Galaxy Note II”

I think 7.7 is a nice sweet spot for some people. I prefer stock android though.

If the tablet is the same fun than the note 2 I will get one. Was thinking to get the note 10.1 but to expensive for me.

I returned the galaxy note 10.1 because of it’s low resolution, looks like I won’t bother with this one. I like crisp rich text when buying a 500 tablet.

SAM – If you think we look ridic playing on our 4″ screens, then please go back to your Nokia 6100. 4.50″ is the new standard now. I guess you love the 90s so please stay there with your 3.5″ phone.
