Huawei has confirmed that they will officially unveil a couple flagship devices at CES 2013 this year. The first is the Ascend W1, a Windows Phone 8 device that will reportedly be available for the low-cost of $240 (USD) – so if this launches in Canada it’ll probably be around the $300 mark. The specs have it coming with a 4.3-inch WVGA display and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Next is the Huawei Ascend D2, a device that WIND will most likely add. The D2 sports a phablet like display at 5-inches (resolution of 1920×1080), 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 13MP camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, runs Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean, 3,000mAh battery. No word on official pricing, but we’ll bring you a hands-on from CES.

Many folks underestimate this company, but they make uber reliable phones with decent build quality. I currently use my second Huawei, The U8681/Phoenix and no issues whatsoever. Had the Astro previously for 6-months, and no problems either. That D2 looks a little like an HTC to me :)

Huawei is the dollar store brand of phones. Or presidents choice no name brand lmao lol. The big 3 don’t sell these phones cause there low cheap brand and no one wants them. But people at Wind mobile love them. Cheap service, cheap plans, cheap phones. Cause people who tend to go with Wind mobile are people on welfare or low income earners. Or new immagrants to Canada that have no income. This is a perfect phone for Welfare bums. People who have money and good jobs buy high end phones like samsung galaxy S3, HTC one X. Iphone 5.

if y have noting to say, just shut up.

    • Traveller

@Mike – PC Mobile only sells LG, Samsung, HTC, and Nokia phones. Not exactly “dollar store brands” – wouldn’t you agree?

    • EvanKr

“Welfare bums”? Just shut up and get out of the country.

  • AWSguy

Looks like it also has a stylus

    • gnote

kinda looks like a pencil to me…

Big screen … big battery … Jelly Bean. They have piqued my interest. But how are they with software updates? Or could they be an intelligent OEM and offer their wares with stock Android and unlocked bootloaders? Kick those two items in there and just shut up and take my money!

Yes! 5″ in my perfect phone size. Nice and comfy in my hands.

Huawei is doing some fantastic work. I hope both phone launches do well.

Huawei, please learn from the mistake of those inbred moron engineers from Google and LG and don’t put a glass plate on the back of your phones.
