Samsung has shipped more than 1 million Galaxy Notes globally
The Galaxy Note was unveiled at the IFA in Berlin on September 1st. At the time Samsung positioned this device as “a new category of product”, mainly because its a cross between a smartphone and a tablet. The Note has a massive 5.3-inch display and an “S-pen” stylus. Now, several now months later, after successfully launching in various countries (France, Germany, Hongkong and Taiwan), Samsung has announced that they’ve shipped “more than 1 million units of Galaxy Note globally”. Pretty impressive numbers considering the company was also pushing large shipments of the Galaxy SII, Galaxy GSII LTE and lately the the Galaxy Nexus.
Samsung stated in a press release today that they’ve “positioned itself as a market creator” and that “the speed of the global sales is expected to accelerate further next year when it will be available in the US”. No worries Canada! Although it’s not indicated in the press release, the Galaxy Note will be coming to Canada in Q1 2012. We mentioned this at the end of November and are still hearing that it’ll be a carrier exclusive. I’m sure we’ll have more info about timing and carrier in a couple weeks – we’ll pass on details as we hear it.

AT LEAST SAMSUNG BETTER THAN THE IPHONE, THEY CALLED IT IPHONE 3 AND 3GS THEN THE 4 THEN THE 4S, AND IT HAS THE SAME SCREEN SIZE!! AND ALL ARE CRAP!!!! ACTUALLY ITS GETTING WORSE, THEY STILL WANT US TO PAY 159 FOR A GARBAGE 3.5 INCH

…..as I read this article on my Note. In Canada. Couldn’t wait folks. It’s a great phone. Despite all the back and forth…this is the way the phone market is going. Why carry a tablet/e-reader and a phone when you can have a nice vibrant display to watch videos, read, as well as take a call and send a text. It’s about versatility.

Where did you order your note from? I want one soon and might not wait until it arrives in Canada. As I’d have to deal with them not wanting to sell it outright anyway.

PS. I heard through a manager at Bell that they were getting the Note. But that doesn’t really say much either, because he works for Bell.

Poor Dell, they were ahead of the game with their 5″ Streak a year ago but no one wanted it. Samsung comes along with the Note and it’s kicking a*s.
I’m still debating on whether or not to get rid of my Streak and get the Note. I probably will.

I had the Streak prior to my Note. Two streaks actually. If you like the Streak then you must upgrade to the Note.

Ummm….the Streak is 5 inch. The Note is 5.3. There is not much of a difference. If anybody asks I tell them it’s a real mans cellphone. I guess some people are just used to handling smaller things.
In reality you don’t have to buy it. That’s all there is to it. I would rather not have to sit all huddled up and pinch to zoom a million times to read on the Web, etc.

To let you know that the iPad is a garbage device and holding the. Note is not big at all, well as per you you advise us to buy the crap iPhone as well as the garbage iPad just to make apple happy!!!!!!!

I’ve got the note. I ordered it a month ago from the UK. Use it on Fido.
It’s a great phone. All of you that say it looks silly when folks are talking on it? Who cares. A Blackberry looks silly when you’re talking on it. So does an iphone. Every phone that looks silly. It’s all about what suits your needs.
Me, I’ve been waiting for a 5″ phone for a LOOOOOONG time. I ALMOST bought the Dell Streak, then saw how poorly it was being supported for updates. So I held off.
Not all of us are 5’8″ tall, There are a LOT of us over 6′ who want a big phone for big hands.
I sell phones, and the number of customers who asked if I carried the note and could sell them one is very high.
Yes it’s big. Yes it’s expensive. Yes it’s not for everyone. But then you can say the same thing about most things in life.

And to the guy saying you look stupid holding this talking, I could say people look stupid on their 3.5″ iPhones watching videos or surfing the internet – which I use my note for far more than talking on.

Not sure it’s exclusive..I saw the Samsung guy here at Telus last week..while i’m not 100% sure, the phone he had looked like this handset.. I thought it would be too big when I first read the specs however it looked okay.. If it’s exclusive then my bet is on Telus!!!

It’s not about looking like a nerd. It’s about being an individual. Look around….on a bus, at school, work. Yes the majority is iphones, tiny little phones with water droplet backgrounds, home buttons, and antennagate cases. That’s it! Some of us like to show our phones and get excited about it. Truly excited. Why, because the device was created for someone like us. Unlike the iphones which have kept the same form and up until ios5, the same boring rows of apps, just pages of icons.

Although the screen size of this device is not practical, I do believe that, currently, this device has the best hardware specs(compared to any high-end smartphones). Fortunately, got a change to play with one of my friends Galaxy Note, and I must say it is amazing.

Yeah, but according to another post, we Android users have larger heads than the rest, so that 5.3″ is in proportion to our noggins.

Been waiting for this since it was announced. No NFC, but LTE makes up for that. The price has been steadily dropping… I wonder what the price will be over here!
I hope for Telus, but will wait. I’m just exited to hear more since the announcement!

I BELIEVE ROGERS WILL GET THE NOTE WITH THE LTE SAME WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE GALAXY S2, BELL HAD IT AND THEN ROGERS GOT THE LTE VERSION.
THE LTE VERSION IS 1.5GHZ NOT 1.4GHZ EXYNOS!!!
SAME WILL BE WITH THE NEXUS ROGERS WILL GET THE LTE VERSION

Got the Note in december. Fantastic little machine. Yes, It’s big but i don’t want to go back to my old galaxy s. Stable, fast, Memo app is really nice. As long as there will be phone/tablet this size, I will upgrade to it without any hesitation. Using this phone with bluetooth earpiece is perfect. can memo while on the phone or see my store webcam while listening to music without any wifi hicup. I was the guy, 2 years ago saying ” Iphone and nothing else”. Gave my Ipad to my son and don’t regret it at all. Got it from Basatne.ca and use it on Bell. Sold on that techno marvel and Android. ICS will be a very nice upgrade to it but it is perfect for me as it is.
