Samsung has sold over 2 billion Galaxy phones since the original Galaxy S

Samsung says it has sold over 2 billion Galaxy smartphones since it launched the first Galaxy S phone a decade ago.

The announcement came during the company’s Unpacked 2019 event in San Francisco alongside the reveal of its Galaxy Fold smartphone and the Galaxy S10.

In comparison, Apple recently revealed in its Q1 earnings call that there are over 900 million active iPhones in the world, and over 1.4 billion active Apple devices, including Macs, iPads, Apple TVs, Apple Watches and iPods, along with iPhones of course.

While Samsung didn’t share numbers on active Galaxy devices, selling 2 billion phones is nothing to sneeze at.
